Kings Kids

Kings Kids is our Sunday morning children’s program. It’s a safe, fun, creative place where we grow the future generations of Christ followers through Bible teaching and worship.

Children participate in a big group devotion and then break out into age specific groups to do follow-up activities that solidify the message of the devotion.

Kings Kids check-in is directly to the left of the sanctuary and opens at 10a.m. Only the parents who drop a child off will be able to pick them up after showing the child-specific security card issued to them upon drop-off. Anyone wishing to tour the King’s Kids room must be escorted by someone from our volunteer team.

AWANA

AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) is our Wednesday night opportunity for children, beginning at age 3, to memorize and learn to apply Scripture to their lives. In the course of a school year, children earn “AWANA bucks” (redeemable on “store night!”) and commit scores of Bible verses to memory.

We play games every Wednesday night and end each AWANA season with a banquet celebrating our children’s commitment to memorize the Word.

AWANA check-in is located at the King’s Kids entrance directly to the left of the sanctuary.

Youth

Youth at New Century (grades 6-12) experience Jesus in fun, relevant, and exciting ways each Wednesday night and Sunday morning. Through Bible teaching, fellowship, service, missions, and a variety of fun outings, our aim is to equip our youth to love Christ and provide a loving intelligent witness for Him in the world.

Check out the youth calendar to see our upcoming events and activities.

Our Youth Ministry meets each Wednesday night at 6:30p.m. in the New Century annex—the two-story building adjacent to the church parking lot. Youth Bible study takes place on Sunday mornings at 9:30am in the annex.

Adult Discipleship

We value discipleship and desire to see believers grow in their knowledge, love for, and likeness to Christ. To that end, we offer theological seminars or inductive Bible studies (depending on the time of year) on both Wednesday evenings (6:30p.m.) and Sunday mornings (9:15a.m.).

These classes are taught by one of the pastors at New Century and cover a variety of content—from specific book studies to systematic theology to apologetics—with the goal of equipping believers to know God and more effectively make Him known.

Local Disciple-Making

At New Century disciple-making is not just a part of what we do, it is the heartbeat of our church. Believing that the light that shines the farthest shines the brightest at home, we engage the Roanoke Valley with the Gospel by conducting a variety of formal and informal outreach events throughout the year.

Additionally, we train our people to practice “Network Evangelism”. We encourage people to develop relationships in their various social networks (work, recreational, neighborhood, family/friends, and commercial) in order to win a hearing for the Gospel. Practicing hospitality, sharing appropriate resources, and inviting people to church are all a part of our strategy to lead people to faith in Christ.

Global Disciple-Making

While the making disciples starts at home, it can’t stay at home. Perhaps more than anything, New Century’s passion for missions has been its distinguishing mark over the years. Having sent out over a dozen full-time international missionaries, New Century is relentlessly committed to making disciples of all nations.

Specifically, we participate in global disciple-making by offering training for cross cultural missions, going on short-term mission trips, working alongside our missionaries overseas, and by financially partnering with the International Mission Board.
