Dr. Jay D. Owens, Senior Pastor

Jay has been the Senior Pastor since New Century's first day of ministry in the summer of 1996. Jay attended Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Ph. D. in New Testament studies and archaeology.

Jay met his wife, Nancy, during his college days; they have been married for over 30 years. They have three adult daughters: Jana, Caree and Loree.

Jay has led mission teams to Korea, Germany, Kenya, Mexico, North Africa, West Africa and Turkey, and has served as a trustee on the SBC's International Mission Board, one of the largest missions organizations in the world. Interests: Performing Arts; Astronomy; Archaeology; Trains
